Roulette Bonus Money Guide
As discussed previously in this tutorial, there is no sure-fire system for winnings at roulette. It is almost entirely a game of chance that is dependant on too many random things to be able to predict. But that does not mean that you can't stretch your budget and maximize your chances of winning at least something. With the knowledge on this page and a little savvy application of it, you can play much longer even with a meager budget than you might expect. Here are some tips:
- Use good money management- This means that you have a set amount you will spend at the roulette table, no more. Never ever exceed what you have previously decided to spend, no matter what. You should play roulette for fun, not to enhance your bankroll.
- Avoid sucker bets- The five numbers and straight up (or single number) bets all have the worst odds in roulette, and should be avoided, particularly if you are playing American roulette.
- Find a European roulette table- If available, a European roulette table is much better than an American roulette table. The European wheel has only one 0 instead of two, which greatly reduces the house advantage. In fact, the advantage in American roulette is more than double that of its European counterpart.
- Do not parlay bets- To parlay a bet means to push it- leave it on the table along with your new bet for the next spin. This is a bad idea in roulette because it is almost entirely a game of chance. There is no real strategy that is effective at determining where the ball will land next. So leaving the same bet on the table just because it won last time is foolish at best. This is an easy way to lose quickly.
- Play free games- If you have already spent your bankroll or want to get a few practice spins in before you wager, try the free games. This of course will only be available if you are playing online. Several good, honest online casinos have tables where you can play for no money so you get a feel for the game and the rules. Even if you can't win, it allows you to play for fun, which is what you should be playing roulette for anyways.
- Take your winnings and run! - Whatever you win at the table, make sure you set it aside. Once you have spent what you originally intended, take your winnings and leave. Do not bet your winnings, too. If you do, you are exceeding your budget, which is never a good idea. Also, because of the high house advantage in American roulette, there is a good chance you might lose all your winnings. Then you walk away from the table with nothing.
- Try variations rules, if possible- Play with 'surrender' rules and you take the house edge down from 5.36% to 2. 63%. Using "en prison" rules to take the house advantage down from 2.63% to 1.53%.
- Try to cover as much of the table as possible- This means placing bets where you can cover more than one number or column of bets. Square bets, corner bets and column bets are all good examples of bets where one wager can cover more than one number or bet, effectively decreasing the house advantage. Even though the payout is lower on these bets, you have a better chance of winning.
- Know your odds! - The bets with 1 to 1 odds are the safest, though they do pay the least. 2 to 1 is still not bad; this gives you a one in three chance of winning. But the 5 or 6 to 1 odds are terrible, these rarely win. If you are confused about whether a bet has good or bad odds, then use this handy chart BEFORE you place a bet:
| Red or Black | a bet that the winning number will be red or black | 1 to 1 |
| Even or Odd | A bet that the winning number be even or odd | 1 to 1 |
| Low or High | A bet that the winning number would be even or odd | 1 to 1 |
| Dozen | You can bet on a group of twelve numbers by setting your chip on one of the three boxes marked "1st 12", "2nd 12" or "3rd 12" | 2 to 1 |
| Column | There are three boxes marked "2 to 1". By setting your chip in one of these boxes, you mark all twelve numbers above it(0 and 00 excluded) | 2 to 1 |
| Line | A line bet covers two street bets (i.e the six diffrent numbers in two rows of three numbers. For example: 4, 5, 6 + 7, 8, 9). Set the bet on outer right boundary line of the roulette table, where it's met by the line dividing the two rows | 5 to 1 |
| Five | This bet covers the following numbers: 0, 00, 1, 2 and 3. Set the chip on the outer boundary line. | 6 to 1 |
| Corner | Corner bets cover four numbers. Set the chip in the cross where the four numbers meet. | 8 to 1 |
| Street | Street bets cover threee numbers. Set the chip on the outer right boundary line of the roulette table, next to the corresponding row of three numbers | 11 to 1 |
| Split | A bet wagered on two connecting numbers by setting the chip on the line dividing the two numbers. A chip can also be set on the line dividing zero (0) and double-zero(00). | 17 to 1 |
| Straight Up | A bet wagered on any invidual number, including zero (0) and double-zero (00). The chip is set directly on the invidual number | 35 to 1 |
