  • In Indiana, video poker is being considered as a possible way to get more tax revenue. If legalized, video poker could be played without penalty in the state. But not only are your winnings taxed, but the proprieters of the machine must also pay a hefty gambling tax. This will increase the state budget and help provide more funds for needy programs.
  • In Oregon, the governor is considering adding video poker to the list of games played in the state lottery system. If approved, it is estimated that this will bring in an additional $120 million dollars annually to the state coffers.
  • In New Hampshire, video poker machines may be added at race tracks. Since the state receives a lot of money from these horse races, this would benefit the state, not just the owners of the tracks.
